Buyers have constantly asked us for an AR15 in 308
Winchester. The problem has always been that the
magazine well for the AR15 is too short to
accommodate the 308 class of cartridges, however
the upper is very capable of handling the pressure.
At Franklin Armory, we realized that there are some
AR owners that would appreciate the flexibility of
using an upper in 308 Winchester even if it was only
a single shot. What’s more is that the gas system is
still operable and it will eject the case and hold the
bolt open each time the shooter pulls the trigger.
Here are the advantages:
- Price: the 308 Upper runs about one third
the cost of a brand new 308 AR.
- Convenience: No state DROS or federal
4473 paperwork required.
- Speed: Operates as fast in the field as a
bolt action rifle.
- Ease: With just two pins, this upper will
mount on your existing AR15.
- Accuracy: The 308 caliber has greater
accuracy potential due to a wind bucking
ballistic coefficient.
- Power: The 308 Winchester has over twice
the muzzle energy of the .223 Remington!
